“ Finally, we made it in for lunch the other day. Absolutely love the vibe in this place, from the entryway all the way to the bar itself. Very creative and fun inside, just our kind of place. Got the Damn Good Hippie Burger with some fries. This burger was packed full of amazing flavors. I really enjoyed that it didn't just fall apart and out of the bun, great for a housemade veggie burger. We will definitely be returning for some more fun and deliciousness that Bar Margaret has to offer. ”

“ Bar Margaret (Bar Marg to us) is an eclectic bar/restaurant with a fantastic vibe in the West Village on Pendleton St. Very welcoming and warm, with great diverse artwork for sale in vibrant colors, black and white renderings of jazz greats, wood cuts of horror movie classics in the main restaurant. Don't forget to look UP in the rafters for my favorite part: vintage Halloween masks and skeletons perched watching us. The bar area is vibrating with color and I love the collection of vintage glassware the drinks are served in. The friendliest staff ever!! Very knowledgeable about food and drinks, not obtrusive and on point about reading your every need. Tonight my favorite drink is the black Manhattan. A mix of rye and Amaro with a beautifully boozy cherry, not too sweet. 2 days ago, I had the hot toddy which was perfect for these unseasonably cold days in Greenville!! Anything you can think of, they can deliver, if the ingredients are available. Now, my favorite food here is the homemade smash burgers, single or double, add ons as you wish. Do NOT FORGET A Bowl OF TRUFFLE FRIES. Perfectly crispy, not greasy, addicting. We had the blackberry Cabernet pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert that was divine. Flaky crust, beautiful berries tempered by the cab. Get it. I had the Amaro flight for dessert....try these beautiful digestives and you won't be sorry! The staff.... unbelievably attentive and just welcoming. ”

“ Do you like burgers? Of course you do, they are delish' What you don't yet realize is that this fine establishment has a crazy good smash burger. The rest of my visit is a blur because the crispy, smashed patty and the buttery toasted bun overwhelmed my senses. My flavor palette felt like it was being manipulated by Bob Ross... painting happy little flavor trees across each domain of deliciousness. Pickles? They looked and tasted home made but I could be wrong. Fries? Pretty awesome, and also looked and tasted home made. There was some kind of ranch-looking sauce they came with that I could probably drink it was so good. In my haste to get the burger into my mid section I missed a good photo-op. ”

“ This place is amazing. I have never been to a restaurant that makes meals that are equally amazing for meat and non meat eaters. A good place if you want to meet with friends for dinner and drinks or if you just want a little down time to yourself. The atmosphere is very relaxing, the paintings and drawings are beautifully positioned. Food pricing is perfect. This is my new relax and dine location! The loaded fries looked so good I forgot to take the picture before we ate them. As you can see they were as good as they looked. ”

Our server (gosh I wish I could remember his name) was on point. He managed to get us Pomegranate Martini's (he'll know) and they were delicious. “ I lived in West Village for nearly two years, and Bar Margret quickly became one of my favorite spots—not just for the incredible food, but also for the amazing staff. Chris, the owner, has done a fantastic job creating a fun, eclectic atmosphere, and his team always makes you feel right at home. Everything on the menu is fresh and delicious, including the vegan burger (which isn’t pictured here). My go-to drink is the Cola Fashioned, and they even make their syrups in-house! I recently moved to Atlanta, and I celebrated my farewell dinner at this cozy gem. I can promise you’ll love the experience! ”

While they’re best known for their creative cocktails, I opted for the “An Even Gooder Burger” and truffled fries. The burger was a bit too salty for my taste, but the fries hit the spot. I love the vibe and location enough to give it another try soon! ”
